How a Gonstead chiropractor can help you
Our goal is to ease your discomfort through clear communication and carefully delivered chiropractic care.
Years of focused study and continued refinement equip Gonstead chiropractors to provide thoughtful, tailored adjustments for each person.
Our care is never one-size-fits-all—we tailor your treatment to suit your needs and only suggest visits that make sense for you.

We find it
We thoroughly examine the whole spine and nervous system to pinpoint the exact cause of your pain.

We adjust it
Using the Gonstead approach, we apply careful adjustments to address spinal misalignments with accuracy.

We leave it alone
After your adjustment, we allow the body space to recover and let nerve pathways function freely.
Conditions often supported by Gonstead chiropractic
Many assume chiropractic care is just for back pain, but the Gonstead method may support relief across different areas of the body, such as:
- Back and neck pain
- Limb and joint pain
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Nerve pain
Understanding the Gonstead approach
This method takes a deep dive into your body’s structure—using detailed assessments to understand the full picture, not just make spinal adjustments.
Once we find the problem and determine the suitability of chiropractic treatment, we design a course of care that aims to give you great results with minimal adjustments.
Taking your history
We begin by carefully exploring your health history, lifestyle, and concerns—your perspective is central to how we approach your care.
Visual assessment
Our knowledge of posture and body mechanics allows us to detect small signs of musculoskeletal issues as you move.
Instrumental analysis
By guiding a nervoscope down your spine, we look for changes in temperature that could suggest nerve-related concerns.
Static palpation
We gently assess along your spine, feeling for signs like tenderness or swelling that could point to the true source of discomfort.
Motion palpation
We carefully guide your spine through motion to sense any imbalances or restricted movement between segments that may benefit from adjustment.
X-ray imaging
With instant access to spinal images via on-site X-ray, we gain valuable insight into your vertebral structure to guide careful and well-informed care.
Precision adjustments
Following our evaluation, we’ll discuss whether chiropractic care is right for you and ensure you’re fully informed before moving forward.
Once you’re comfortable with the proposed treatment, we’ll carry out your adjustment using the Gonstead approach—focused, accurate movements designed to support alignment and ease discomfort.
Your adjustments are tailored through the Gonstead method to align with your unique health goals and support a greater sense of wellbeing.
History of the Gonstead technique
Developed in the 1940s by Dr Clarence Gonstead, the Gonstead chiropractic system was born from a desire to better understand and address spinal misalignments. Drawing on biomechanics and disc-nerve relationships, Dr Gonstead crafted a thorough system for assessing the entire spine through detailed analysis.
During the 1950s, as demand for his approach grew, Dr Gonstead’s team started sharing his method with other practitioners and went on to open the Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic in Wisconsin in 1964.
Widely taught and practised internationally, the Gonstead system is recognised by many as a high standard of chiropractic technique.
As members of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society, our team at Chiropractic Symphony takes a detailed and caring approach to your treatment using the Gonstead system.
