A precise and patient-focused approach to chiropractic care

Why we follow the Gonstead method in our chiropractic care
Gonstead chiropractic care offers a specific and scientific way to find the right treatment for you.
The Gonstead technique follows a clear approach—identify the problem, adjust with care, and avoid excessive follow-ups.
Our approach is about understanding what’s causing your discomfort, then providing care that’s suited to your needs.

How Gonstead chiropractic care may benefit your body
We aim to reduce your suffering with an honest and open approach using precise chiropractic adjustments.
Gonstead practitioners dedicate years to education and continued learning to ensure every adjustment is precise and responsive to your individual needs.
We create care plans based on your individual needs, not templates, and always recommend only what’s truly helpful for your progress.

We find it
Through a full spinal and nervous system review, we work to locate the precise reason behind your pain.

We adjust it
Our chiropractic care is grounded in the Gonstead method, using focused techniques to support proper alignment.

We leave it alone
After your adjustment, we allow the body space to recover and let nerve pathways function freely.
Conditions that may be addressed through Gonstead care
Chiropractic support through the Gonstead approach goes beyond just the back—it may ease discomfort in multiple parts of the body, including:
- Back and neck pain
- Limb and joint pain
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Nerve pain
How the Gonstead technique works
With a strong focus on accuracy, the Gonstead approach uses a range of tools to examine how the body’s systems interact, offering insight well beyond spinal manipulation.
Once we find the problem and determine the suitability of chiropractic treatment, we design a course of care that aims to give you great results with minimal adjustments.
Taking your history
Understanding your background, symptoms, and goals helps shape our approach, and we make sure your voice is heard from the start.
Visual assessment
As experts in posture and movement, we watch you move as we look for subtle signs of issues or imbalances in your musculoskeletal system.
Instrumental analysis
Using our precision nervoscope tool to run down your spine, we watch for temperature changes that can indicate underlying nerve problems.
Static palpation
By palpating the spine with precision, we detect subtle signs that may reveal pain coming from another part of the body.
Motion palpation
As we guide you through gentle movements, we’ll feel for unusual motion patterns between different spine segments to locate areas that need adjusting.
X-ray imaging
With instant access to spinal images via on-site X-ray, we gain valuable insight into your vertebral structure to guide careful and well-informed care.
Targeted spinal adjustment
Once we’ve run our thorough assessment, we’ll recommend whether you need any chiropractic care. If you do need adjustments, we’ll explain our plan and give you a chance to ask questions.
With your permission, we’ll perform your adjustment using the Gonstead technique of quick, precise and meticulous movements to realign your spine, reduce pain, and restore normal movement.
Your adjustments are tailored through the Gonstead method to align with your unique health goals and support a greater sense of wellbeing.
How the Gonstead approach developed
The Gonstead chiropractic system is an approach developed by Dr Clarence Gonstead in the 1940s. Dr Gonstead was particularly interested in finding more effective ways to locate and correct spinal misalignments and was guided by biomechanics and the interactions between vertebral discs and nerve pressure. Through extensive clinical research, Gonstead developed a complete method of biomechanical analysis based on through examination of the whole spine, not just the affected area.
By the 1950s, Dr Gonstead’s method had gained significant traction, leading his team to educate fellow chiropractors and establish the Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic in Wisconsin in 1964.
Widely taught and practised internationally, the Gonstead system is recognised by many as a high standard of chiropractic technique.
Chiropractic Symphony practitioners are proud members of the Gonstead Chiropractic Society, offering a methodical and compassionate approach to your care.
